Morgantown, West Virginia – In the first quarter of the West Virginia TCU game last night, a fan tweeted the following message directly to Mountaineers Director of Athletics Shane Lyons: “Maybe Shane Lyons will wake up and get this fixed! This is embarrassing!”
At the time, the Mountaineers were down 7-0. West Virginia ultimately won the game 29-17 and Lyons took time out to to fire back at the “fan” following the game.
“Not sure why you are tweeting at me during the 1st quarter. Did we watch the same game? I just walked off the field at TCU with a road win! Look forward to seeing you at Mountaineer Field next Saturday.”

West Virginia, now 3-4 and 1-3 in the Big 12 Conference, will host the 5-2 Iowa State Cyclones next Saturday at 2:00PM in Morgantown.
