Morgantown, West Virginia – James Okokwo, a talented freshman who Bob Huggins recently praised for his outstanding work during practice, has broken a bone in his foot and will be out for a month or so.
West Virginia’s talented freshman James Okonkwo will miss a month or so with a broken bone in his foot, Bob Huggins told @Stadium.
“He’s talented. He’ll be an all-league player down the road.”

Originally from the United Kingdom, Okonkwo, a 6’9 forward, was the 87th overall ranked recruit in the 2023 class by Rivals before reclassifying and entering the 2022 class. He has a 7’2 wingspan and is capable of scoring from the perimeter and in the interior, and Bob Huggins said he will one day be an all-league player.
Let’s hope he’s back and recovered before the start of the season.
