MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Saturday night in Morgantown sets up as a tale of two programs heading in opposite directions. TCU arrives riding momentum and offensive firepower, while West Virginia is reeling through a season of roster turnover and inconsistent quarterback play. Our staff has broken down the matchup, key storylines, and where we see this Big 12 showdown heading with predictions and insights to guide you into kickoff.

Wyatt Coffman, Graphics Designer, The Voice of Morgantown (@wcgraphicdesign): I think West Virginia is simply outmatched in this game despite it being Coal Rush and being underdogs by over two touchdowns is alarming to say the least. I think that TCU will pile it on the Mountaineers today and that will result in the fifth straight loss for West Virginia.  WVU 21 TCU 38. Season Record: 5-2

Rush Bishop, Director of Video Content, The Voice of Morgantown (@RushShowVOM): It’s that time of year again — when Mountaineers from near and far return to Morgantown to celebrate their alma mater and relive the glory days. Unfortunately, if you were hoping for anything more than the classic night game atmosphere and the energy of a Coal Rush, you might have to wait until next year.

This season has been rough. The roster is thin, and many of the available players are young and still finding their footing. The team’s heart is undeniable, but experience matters — and right now, we’re short on it.

Meanwhile, TCU comes in as a solid, disciplined team that knows how to capitalize on mistakes. Given what we’ve seen since the Pitt game, I’m not expecting any dramatic turnaround this weekend. The effort will be there, but it may not be enough to overcome the talent gap.

Prediction: TCU 38, WVU 13 Season Record: 5-2

Clark Johnson, Senior Football Writer, The Voice of Morgantown: Is it 2026 yet?

WVU 7, TCU 41 Season Record: 4-3

Bernie Mac, Vice President, The Voice of Morgantown: Really not much to be excited about going into this game other than Homecoming and the uniforms. WVU showed zero improvement coming off the bye week and with additional starters out for this one, I expect a similar result. WVU 10 TCU 35 Season Record: 2-4

Brad Smith, Founder/Publisher, The Voice of Morgantown: It could be a long night in Morgantown. West Virginia enters tonight’s matchup with TCU searching for answers, confidence, and consistency, but the reality is this one has the makings of an ugly blowout. The Mountaineers are banged up, the offense has looked completely out of sync, and the defense continues to give up chunk plays.

TCU, on the other hand, is heating up. The Horned Frogs have the kind of speed and balance that exposes everything West Virginia has struggled to contain this season. If the Mountaineers can’t find a way to establish the run early or protect their quarterback, this could spiral fast.

 WVU 0 TCU 56 Season Record: 4-3
