The Top Player in WV Wants to Play for the Mountaineers One Day

Morgantown, West Virginia – Trey Dunn, the #1 ranked player in the state of West Virginia, is a 6’1 195 pound quarterback for South Charleston High School.

As a sophomore last season, Dunn led South Charleston to a 6-0 record en route to a Class AAA state title.  Dunn was also the only sophomore named to the Class AAA all-state team, throwing for 1,865 yards and 23 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions, and rushing for 289 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Although Dunn is already very accomplished as a high school football player, he has flown under the radar so far with offers only from West Virginia State University, Wheeling University and the University of Charleston.

Dunn wants to one day represent his state and play for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

“I would love the opportunity to play there.  I have sent the coaches my highlights but haven’t gotten any responses yet.  It’s always been my dream growing up to play for the Mountaineers.”

West Virginia head coach Neal Brown has made keeping the best in-state players at home and Dunn is the clear top player in West Virginia in the 2023 recruiting class.

Imagine a home-state quarterback leading the Mountaineers!  Maybe one day Trey Dunn will step on the field at Milan Puskar Stadium as the starting quarterback for West Virginia University.
