The Very Latest on Jesse Edwards’ Visit

Morgantown, West Virginia – From all indications, Syracuse Orange transfer Jesse Edwards will be a member of the West Virginia Mountaineers very soon.

Edwards, a 6’11 center originally from Amsterdam, Netherlands, has been in Morgantown since Friday. Edwards brought his girlfriend with him and was hosted by WVU guard Jose Perez, who also successfully hosted Kerr Kriisa two weeks ago.

On Friday, Perez and Edwards reportedly hit up the Morgantown night life, hanging out downtown at Fat Daddy’s Bar & Grill. Edwards met with coaches and players and viewed the basketball facilities on Saturday before ending the night with a late dinner at local Italian-American eatery Stephano’s with Edwards, Edwards’ girlfriend, Perez and the West Virginia coaching staff, including Bob Huggins, in attendance.

Following the dinner, Edwards’ host, Jose Perez, posted the following message on his personal social media account: “It’s a parade inside my city” with a party emoji indicating very good news.

Although it’s not official yet, look for a quick commitment to the Mountaineers today or in the coming days. Edwards has not set up any other visits and has not followed any other players or coaches on social media. All things considered, today is going to be a great day to be a Mountaineer!
