The Worst Foul Call in West Virginia History

The West Virginia Mountaineers we’re beaten by the top-ranked Baylor Bears on Saturday and this foul is unlikely to have changed that result, but it did happen at a key moment in the game.

With 1:32 left in the 1st half and the Mountaineers down 33-21, Jermaine Haley drove to the basket, scoring and cutting the lead to ten points.  However, the basket was waved off when the official, who was standing right in front of the action, called Freshman Oscar Tshiebwe for an absolutely awful, mysterious foul under the basket.

Check out the play below:

Rather than cutting the lead to ten points, Baylor scored on the next possession and went up 14 points.  Baylor went on to win the game 70-59.
