Top West Virginia Target to Enter the Transfer Portal

Morgantown, West Virginia – Former four star recruit Akok Akok has left the Georgetown basketball program and will enter the transfer portal, according to multiple sources.

Akok, 6’10 210 pound senior from Manchester, New Hampshire, averaged 6.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the Hoyas last season. Previously at Connecticut, he averaged 5.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game as a freshman for the Huskies before tearing his Achilles’ tendon.

Rumors circulated about Akok being linked to West Virginia when his close friend, Jose Perez, decided to return to play for the Mountaineers. Out of high school, Akok was rated by 247 Sports as the 94th overall player in the country. He is an extremely talented defender and if healthy, would be a big addition for the Mountaineers.
