Tykee Smith Named One of the Best Returning Defensive Backs in the Nation

This comes as no surprise to West Virginian fans. We already know what a special talent Tykee Smith is.

 

 

Pro Football Focus named Smith as the 5th best returning defensive back in College Football for 2021. According to the site’s statistics, Smith has “the third best slot coverage grade in the nation” since 2019. They also weren’t shy to give the Philadelphia native praise.

 

“He has great eyes in coverage and was never caught off guard. Keep an eye on Smith next season – he’s the real deal”

During his two seasons in Morgantown, Smith has totaled 111 tackles, including 10.5 for loss. He has also totaled 4 interceptions that he has returned for 100 yards and one touchdown.
