Tyler Sumpter Invites Pat McAfee to Morgantown

Tyler Sumpter, who transferred to WVU from Troy this past summer, yet again had another solid day at the office punting for the Mountaineers. His highlight of the day was his punt that was downed inside the 1-yard line, which garnered attention from many on social media.

After the game, Sumpter would share a video of his punt, and invite former Mountaineer, Pat McAfee, to Morgantown.

“I would personally like to invite you back to Morgantown so I can learn from one of the greats,” Sumpter tweeted. “Would love to chat gold swings and everything punting.”

McAfee was a solid punter for WVU during the late 2000s. He is known as one of the greats, and is now one of the best personalities in sports. McAfee could bring a lot of insight for Sumpter, making for an interesting meeting between the two.

McAfee is very active on Twitter, and is known for interacting with virtually everyone who contacts him. Within the next day or so, we should expect a response from McAfee in regards to Sumpter’s offer.

Sumpter has punted 24 times for 960 yards, averaging 40 yards per kick, per Sports Reference.
