Austin, Texas – The West Virginia Mountaineers suffered a tough 38-20 loss to the Texas Longhorns tonight. In the second half, sensational freshman running back CJ Donaldson was injured when he took a knee from an opposing player on the helmet and briefly lost consciousness.

Donaldson was down and did not move for several minutes before being carted off the field on a stretcher. Donaldson gave a thumbs up motion on his way off the field, but there was major concern from West Virginia fans due to the seriousness of the injury.

Moments ago, it was announced that Donaldson, who rushed 4 times for 9 yards in the loss, is at a local Austin hospital and is “stable, alert and has movement in all of his extremities and is awaiting further testing.” Although this is certainly positive news, it’s still unclear the extent of his injury.

Continued prayers!
