Morgantown, West Virginia – With so much uncertainty in the air surrounding the West Virginia football program right now, there will be a tremendous amount of speculation and rumors flying around.
One way that rumors start is by monitoring flights coming into the Morgantown and Bridgeport airports on Flight Tracker, an app that allows users to track every flight that comes and goes from airports all around the world.
Tonight, we’ve monitored one very interesting flight that may turn out to be something very special, or nothing at all. The flight is scheduled to arrive in Morgantown at 8:07 PM from Charlottesville, Virginia. The reason that this private flight is compelling is that it originated from Lynchburg, Virginia, home of Liberty University.
Liberty’s current head coach, Hugh Freeze, is an early favorite/front-runner to be the next head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers, if/when Neal Brown is fired following the team’s final game this Saturday at Oklahoma State.
West Virginia is said to be interested in a proven Power 5 head coach and although Freeze has a somewhat checkered past, he has shown that he can win at the highest level of college football. In his 10 seasons as a head coach, Freeze is 83-42 overall, has beaten Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide twice while at Ole Miss and has completely transformed the football program at Liberty.
Again, this could simply be a typical flight from Lynchburg, Virginia to Morgantown, West Virginia from a private owner, or it could be something important.
