Morgantown, West Virginia – Virginia Tech will be without its team captain and perhaps its best player this weekend when they come to Morgantown to play the West Virginia Mountaineers.
James Mitchell, a preseason All ACC Selection at tight end who had 52 receptions for 838 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Hokies last season, will have season-ending knee surgery and will be out for the remainder of the year.
Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente said the following about his team captain: “We are disappointed for him. What a great leader and a great young man he is. A team captain, a leadership council member. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
God does no wrong! I’ll be back 🧡 https://t.co/YQfM12T4zZ
