Originally supposed to be an open weekend for the conference, the Big 12 will now feature two games in week 3. After both Baylor and Oklahoma State saw their opponents have a cluster of COVID-19 cases, their season openers were postponed. Baylor will have a new opponent in Houston, and Oklahoma State retains Tulsa on their schedule.

Here are our game predictions for week 3 in the Big 12:

  • Houston at Baylor (Noon on FOX): This will be a tricky matchup for the Bears. Sure, Baylor has Charlie Brewer back at quarterback, but they have a new head coach and also replace a plethora of talent on defense. This has the feel of a game where Dana Holgorsen and the Cougars can pull off the upset — and we think they will. Houston has the experience advantage on the field and in the coaching staff. Clayton Tune has a big day and the Cougars escape with Dana Holgorsen’s first Big 12 win since leaving West Virginia. Houston 38, Baylor 34
  • Tulsa at Oklahoma State (Noon on ESPN): Tulsa will be improved after a 4-8 season, but they will be overmatched in this game. Chuba Hubbard and Spencer Sanders only have to play the first half, and Wallace will grab two touchdowns. This will be a perfect tuneup for conference play for the Cowboys. No upsets here. Oklahoma State 55, Tulsa 17
