West Virginia Baylor Game Day Staff Predictions

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers (2-3) travel to Waco, Texas to play the (4-1) Baylor Bears today.  Both teams are coming off losses last week – West Virginia suffering a stunning loss at home against Texas Tech and Baylor a close loss at #12 ranked Oklahoma State, their first defeat of the season.

Here’s how our experts think the game will play out today:

Pretty simple, West Virginia’s woes continue.  Mountaineers lose another one on the road.

West Virginia’s game have all been close this season with all of their games being decided by six points or less.  Today, I just don’t see the Mountaineers staying that close to a really solid Baylor team.

West Virginia has only averaged 21.8 points against their FCS opponents this season and their running game is clearly the worst in the Big 12 Conference.  Jarret Doege will once again be relied on to make big throws and he’s never shown to be capable of doing that.

The Mountaineers’ defense is tough, but Baylor averaged 491 yards and 42.8 points per game in their first four games this year.

Unless West Virginia has their best game of the season, this game won’t be close.
