West Virginia Beaten Soundly At Home By Oklahoma State

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers (4-5, 2-4) were beaten soundly in all phases of the game by the #11 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-1, 5-1), 24-3.

West Virginia’s offense was completely shut down by the Cowboys’ stout defense, accumulating only 120 total yards in the game.  Jarret Doege finished the game 16/23 for 116 yards, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception.  Tony Mathis was the leading rusher today with 25 yards on 5 carries and Leddie Brown added 24 yards on 10 carries.  West Virginia’s top receiver today was Sam James, who had 5 catches for 46 yards.

The Mountaineers will attempt to bounce back when they are back in action next Saturday on the road against the Kansas State Wildcats, who are 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the Big 12 Conference.  With three games remaining, West Virginia must win two of them to be eligible for a bowl game.
