North Texas transfer Brenen Lorient once again led the way for the Mountaineers, delivering a dominant performance with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. Lorient’s energy on both ends of the floor set the tone early, as West Virginia built a comfortable lead and never looked back.

The Mountaineers’ defense was the story of the night. West Virginia held Lehigh to under 50 points, applying relentless pressure and forcing tough shots. Their rebounding advantage and ability to convert defensive stops into transition points made the difference in the second half.
With the win, West Virginia improves to 3-0 under head coach Ross Hodge, who has quickly built a team identity centered on toughness, defense, and selfless play.
Next up, the Mountaineers will face one of their biggest tests of the young season when they host the Pitt Panthers for the basketball edition of the Backyard Brawl on Thursday, November 13th at 6:00 PM at the Hope Coliseum. Pitt comes into the matchup 2-0, with victories over Youngstown State and Longwood.
West Virginia will look to keep the momentum rolling and protect their unbeaten record in what’s sure to be an electric rivalry showdown in Morgantown.
