Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers (14-15) appeared ready to pull off an incredible upset over the 20th ranked Texas Longhorns (21-8), but fell short late in the game to lose 82-81. The Mountaineers have now lost 13 of their last 14 games.

West Virginia was led by senior guard Malik Curry, who had 27 points off the bench for the Mountaineers. Seniors Taz Sherman (13) and Gabe Osabuohien (12) were the other two players in double-digits for West Virginia.

The Mountaineers, who have two remaining games in the regular season, will next play at Oklahoma (15-14, 5-11) and then close the season out at home against TCU (17-9, 6-8). Both games are very winnable. Let’s Go Mountaineers!
