In front of a limited crowd at the WVU Coliseum, West Virginia lost a heartbreaker the 12th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners, 91-90, in double overtime.

Sean McNeil, who was coming off of an electric performance against Texas Tech, helped orchestrate a comeback in the final minutes that ultimately fell short. The junior once again found a hot streak and scored 21 points on 7 for 14 shooting, including 5 for 10 from three. Derek Culver would also add a double-double for WVU, scoring 29 points and notching 14 rebounds.

With just over 5 minutes left, the Mountaineers fell behind by nine, 68-59. McNeil scored three-consecutive three pointers, which were a part of his 13-consecutive points that gave West Virginia the lead. However, they could not hold on as the Sooners pulled away in the second overtime.

West Virginia will now have a week off after their back-to-back matchups against Baylor were postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Bears program. The Mountaineers will travel to Austin to take on the Longhorns next Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. and it will broadcast on ABC.
