West Virginia Fans Trash Coal Monument

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers look like they will cruise to an easy victory over Long Island today.

While it’s a great day to be a Mountaineer, fans have disappointingly thrown trash all over the coal monument outside of Milan Puskar Stadium where the man trip takes place.

The 350-pound chunk of coal was delivered to the stadium by Alpha Natural Resources and was extracted from the Upper Big Branch, where 29 miners lost their lives on April 5, 2010.

While it would be convenient to blame the fans of the opposing team, it’s very unlikely that many Long Island fans made the trip to Morgantown.  Very, very disappointing development at the stadium. Hopefully the university will make sure that this doesn’t happen again.
