West Virginia Has Embarrassing Loss to undermanned Oklahoma State

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia had so much to gain with a win today.  A #2 seed in the Big 12 Tournament, a potential 2nd seed in the NCAA Tournament and Bob Huggins’ 900th win.

However, it didn’t happen.  Oklahoma State, playing without their top two scorers Cade Cunningham and Isaac Likekele, beat the West Virginia Mountaineers 85-80.

The lack of effort and intensity by the Mountaineers was stunning.

The Mountaineers were led by Taz Sherman, who had 20 points, and Miles McBride, who finished with 12 points.  Emmitt Matthews, Jr. added 11 points and Derek Culver added 14 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.

Play of the Game

The Mountaineers will now get a much-needed rest before playing in the Big 12 Tournament from March 10th through the 14th in Kansas City.  They will likely be a 3 or 4 seed in the tournament now.
