West Virginia Hires New Women’s Basketball Head Coach

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers have a new women’s basketball head coach, according to multiple sources.

Mark Kellogg, the current head coach at Stephen F. Austin, will take over the team after former coach Dawn Plitzuweit left after one season for the same position at Minnesta. West Virginia’s director of athletics, Wren Baker, hired Kellogg when he was at Northwestern Missouri State and he has been extremely successful at Stephen F. Austin since taking over there. Since 2016, Kellogg has had seven seasons with 23 or more wins and has appeared in the NCAA Tournament twice during that time.

Kellogg has 168-48 overall record, a 105-20 conference record and was named the WAC Coach of the Year for the 2021-2022 season.

WELCOME HOME, MR. KELLOGG!
