Morgantown, West Virginia – Moments ago, Josiah Trotter, a four star linebacker out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, committed to play for the West Virginia Mountaineers!
Trotter, who held offers from Notre Dame, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, among many others, recently trimmed his list of schools to Clemson, Penn state, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and West Virginia.
The Mountaineers beating out some of the top schools in the nation for Trotter is important for two reasons. 1.) West Virginia proved that they can compete in the new age of NIL against major programs. 2.) The Mountaineers desperately need help and depth at the linebacker position.
This is the second massive commitment this week for West Virginia. Earlier in the week, the Mountaineers also landed five star transfer quarterback JT Daniels. Trotter and Daniels are two of the best available players at their position and they fill big holes on the West Virginia roster.
