Morgantown, West Virginia – West Virginia has just landed its top target of the 2022 class in four star cornerback Jacolby Spells!

Spells, a 5’11 170 pound cornerback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is considered one of the very best high school defensive players in the entire country!

Spells held offers from virtually every major, big-time program in the country, including hometown Miami, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas A&M and Virginia, among many, many others.

Spells was the starting cornerback as a junior for an American Heritage team that won a 5A state title last season.  In addition, Spells is one of the top returning high school track athletes in the entire state of Florida.

Spells joins four star quarterback Nicco Marchiol, three star tight end Corbin Page, wide receiver Jarel Williams, offensive linemen Sullivan Weidman, Maurice Hamilton, Charlie Katarincic, safeties Mumu Bin-Wahad and Tyrin Woodby, and defensive linemen Aric Burton and Zion Young in this recruiting class.

The 2022 class is shaping up to be one of the best ever for West Virginia football and Jacolby Spells will be one of the real highlights of this incredible recruiting class!
