Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers have now lost their third 2022 commitment in a week. Last week, Kevin Thomas and Justin Williams both decided to de-commit from the program and today, another player has done the same.
Zion Young, a 6’5 250 pound three star defensive lineman from Atlanta, Georgia, announced on his social media accounts that he has de-committed and that his recruitment is once again “1000% open.”
In the message, Young said the following: “Thank you to the West Virginia University coaches for believing me and offering me a chance to play in Morgantown. After careful consideration and talking with my family family and God, we have decided that it’s in my best interest to de-commit from West Virginia at this time.”
West Virginia’s 2022 recruiting was initially ranked in the Top 25 in the nation and #3 in the Big 12. However, it is now ranked #32 in the country and #5 in the Big 12 Conference.
