West Virginia Lost a Coal Miner Today

According to multiple reports, after a mining accident this morning, a coal miner has passed away in Kanawha County.

The miner was 20-year old Taylor Meldin Halstead.

 

Governor Jim Justice confirmed the news earlier today, and offered his condolences on behalf of himself and his wife, Cathy.

”Cathy and I are deeply saddened to learn that we lost one of our incredible West Virginia coal miners today. This is especially devastating news so close to the Thanksgiving holiday…”
