West Virginia Makes Top 3 for Shawn “Baby Shaq” Phillips

Morgantown, West Virginia – 6’11 250 pound center Shawn “Baby Shaq” Phillips has released his top three schools and the West Virginia Mountaineers have made the list!

Phillips, a four star recruit and the 84th overall ranked player in the class of 2022, was teammates with Emoni Bates, the top rated player in the class, at Ypsi Prep Academy in Michigan.

Phillips holds scholarship offers from Indiana, NC State, Ohio State, Maryland and Cincinnati, among several others, but has cut his list to NC State, Ole Miss and West Virginia.

Phillips is a big, physical player who would thrive in Bob Huggins’ system.  Phillips visited Morgantown in June and came away impressed with the facilities and the family atmosphere Huggins has created around his program.

Phillips will make his decision on September 22nd and the Mountaineers have a very good chance of landing this impressive recruit next month.
