West Virginia Manhandles Northeastern

Morgantown, West Virginia – The #9 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, now 8-2 overall and 1-1 in Big 12 Conference play, defeated the 1-5 Northeastern Huskies 73-51.

Oscar Tshiebwe had one of his best games of the season, finishing with 12 points and 15 rebounds.  Derek Culver had 18 points and Emmitt Matthews, Jr. added 13 points and 5 rebounds.

The Mountaineers were 31-72 from the field (43.1%) and only made 2-21 from three point range (2-21).

Northeastern was led by sophomore guard Tyson Walker, who finished the game with 10 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Mountaineers will next travel to Oklahoma to play the Oklahoma Sooners on January 2nd and the Oklahoma State Cowboys two days later on January 4th.
