Morgantown, West Virginia – The latest Top 25 Coaches Poll was just released and the West Virginia Mountaineers were shown some huge respect after beating the Eastern Kentucky Colonels 56-10 in the season opener.
West Virginia came in ranked at #28 in the “others receiving votes” category. This is huge considering the lack of hype surrounding this year’s team and very average expectations from college football experts.
Other notable movement from teams in the Big 12 include Texas moving to #8, West Virginia’s next opponent Oklahoma State at #12 and Baylor moving to #24. Iowa State, who lost to Louisiana at home, dropped out of the Top 25.
