West Virginia Offers Son of NBA Legend

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — The West Virginia Mountaineers have been very successful at bringing in the top transfer players available in the portal, but have also started to reach out to the best high school recruits in the nation as well.

Last night, West Virginia extended an offer to Kiyan Anthony, a 6’4 shooting guard from Glen Head, New York. Anthony, the son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, is a four star player in the 2025 class.

Anthony currently holds offers from Tennessee, UCF, Seton Hall, Providence, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Memphis, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, Florida State, among others. Right now, Syracuse appears to be the favorite to land him. His father played at Syracuse during the 2002-2023 season, where he averaged 22.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while leading the Orange to a National Championship.

Anthony attends Long Island Lutheran in Brookville, New York and ranks #62 in the Class of 2025, per the 247Sports Composite. In the 2025 class, he ranks #14 in his position and is the #2 recruit in New York.
