Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers wore their state American flag helmets for Military Appreciation Day to honor the members of the United States armed forces today against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
However, one player decided to not wear the flag on his helmet. Senior Josh Chandler-Semedo has instead chosen to simply wear the flying WV. It’s unclear what political statement Chandler-Semedo is making, but it’s unfortunate that a player would disrespect our country in this way.
Chandler-Semedo, a linebacker from Canton, Ohio, has played in 39 career games and has started 26 games for the Mountaineers during his time in Morgantown.
