Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers (3-3, 1-2) pulled off a miraculous, come-from-behind victory against the Baylor Bears (3-3, 1-2), winning 43-40 with a field goal late in the 4th quarter.
There were several outstanding individual performances for the Mountaineers tonight. Talented wide receiver Kaden Prather had 8 catches 118 yards and 1 touchdown. Quarterback JT Daniels was impressive for most of the game, finishing 24/37 with 283, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
But Tony Mathis really carried the Mountaineers when it mattered most. Mathis, filling in for the injured CJ Donaldson as the starting running back tonight, finished the game with 22 carries and 163 yards on the ground, including 112 yards in the second half alone, and 2 touchdowns.
Congratulations to Tony Mathis for being named the Player of the Game!
