West Virginia Players Threatening to Leave Team

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — According to reports, several West Virginia players plan to transfer from the program if certain conditions aren’t met. Adam Zagoria said the following on social media moments ago: “Several other West Virginia players also plan to transfer if Jay Kuntz is not retained, per source. As of now, they’re ‘waiting it out.'”

Kuntz is the current Director of Player Personnel/Recruiting for the Mountaineers and many believe he is responsible for landing many of the talented players in the transfer portal over the past couple of seasons.

In addition, according to Jake Weingarten, Jose Perez, RaeQuan Battle and Jesse Edwards will wait things out to see how West Virginia hires as the next head coach. All three will reportedly wait to see who the next head coach is before making a decision whether to transfer or not.
