Morgantown, West Virginia – Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a very popular vacation destination for West Virginians, and soon, the Mountaineers could travel south for a bowl game there.

Action Network released their updated bowl projections today and the West Virginia Mountaineers are currently projected to play in the Myrtle Beach Bowl in Conway, South Carolina on December 19th.

Action Network has the Mountaineers playing the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and West Virginia is a 9.5 favorite to win the game.

Coastal Carolina, who plays in the Sun Belt Conference, is 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play right now, and the Chanticleers are 11-1 and 11-2 in the last two seasons.

The Myrtle Beach Bowl is actually played at Brooks Stadium, the home of Coastal Carolina, and has a maximum capacity of 20,000 fans.

West Virginia is currently 3-3 overall and needs at least 3 more wins this season in order to become bowl eligible. Although The Myrtle Beach Bowl is not one of the top bowls in the nation, it would certainly be an interesting matchup and great location for West Virginia fans to attend.
