West Virginia Reaches Out to 7’4 Giant

Morgantown, West Virginia – West Virginia has already added four major pieces – Jose Perez, Omar Silverio, Kerr Kriisa and Jesse Edwards – and has former four star wing RaeQuan Battle in Morgantown for a visit this weekend.

But the West Virginia coaching staff is not done yet. The Mountaineers have reached out to Florida State transfer Naheem McLeod, who recently entered the transfer portal. McLeod, a 7’4 255 pound center from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was a starter for the Florida State Seminoles to start the season but lost minutes to freshman center Cameron Corhen and finished the season averaging 3.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.

With that said, McLeod is an imposing physical presence who could develop behind Jesse Edwards and alongside James Okonkwo and Mohamed Wague, and could provide minutes off the bench this season as a defensive stopper for the Mountaineers.

McLeod has also been in touch with a long list of suitors, including Georgetown, Texas, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Clemson, Syracuse, St. John’s, Villanova, Gonzaga, among many others.
