
Charleston, South Carolina – The West Virginia Mountaineers moved to 3-0 on the young season by defeating Elon 87-68 in the opening round of the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic in Charleston, South Carolina.
Senior Taz Sherman had an incredible performance, scoring a career high 27 points (9-17 FG) and dishing out 5 assists. Sean McNeil had 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3PT) and 4 rebounds. Kedrian Johnson and Isaiah Cottrell each had 9 points and Jalen Bridges added 7 points and 4 rebounds.

The Mountaineers will be back in action tomorrow night at 7:00PM against the Marquette Golden Eagles, who are 4-0 and coached by former Texas head coach Shaka Smart.
If West Virginia defeats Marquette tomorrow night, they will play the winner of the St. Bonaventure versus Clemson game in the championship game on Sunday at 7:30PM.
