West Virginia Seniors, We Appreciate You

Morgantown, West Virginia – When Saturday’s season finale against Oklahoma was cancelled today, the fairy tale ending was completely shattered for the West Virginia seniors.  Not only would they not be able to play in front of thousands of fans on their final game at Mountaineer Field, they were robbed of their Senior Day, a celebration of four years of hard work.

The work that a student athlete puts in during four years is considerable and incredible, and the people of West Virginia truly appreciates the sacrifice that these young men have made during their time at West Virginia University.

Although all collegiate athletes have the option of returning for one more season due to special eligibility waivers this year, most of the seniors will elect to move on with their lives and start life after college.

With that said, we may never see the following players ever step on Mountaineer Field again, and although ending their careers this way is not what they had hoped for, they are appreciated and forever loved by the people of West Virginia.
