Morgantown, West Virginia – Despite five consecutive losses, a 13-7 overall record and a 2-5 record in the Big 12 Conference, the West Virginia Mountaineers are still considered “in” the NCAA Tournament.
According to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, creator of Bracketology and the foremost expert on the NCAA Tournament seeding, the Mountaineers are among the last four in currrently.
Lunardi lists West Virginia as one of the last four teams in the tournament along with Creighton, Oregon and Florida.
West Virginia’s schedule faces a brutal upcoming schedule over the next two weeks with games against #5 Baylor, #13 Texas Tech and #23 Iowa State. Although the Mountaineers are considered in the NCAA Tournament right now, they have a lot of work to do to earn a ticket to March Madness.
