MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Ross Hodge and his coaching staff have been working behind the scenes to complete the West Virginia basketball roster. Today, the Mountaineers received a commitment from Miami, Florida guard Michael “MJ” Feenane.
Feenane, a 6’5 180 pound guard who played for Columbus High School in Miami last season, announced his commitment on social media earlier today. I spoke with Feenane today and he had the following to say about how he ended up at West Virginia.

“I ended up deciding on WVU because I felt like it was the best fit for me and my future,” Feenane exclusively told The Voice of Morgantown.
When asked about his highlights of his time in high school, Feenane said, “Definitely winning 4 state championships in a row and being a part of winning my school’s first state championship in basketball ever. Also winning nationals for the first time in school history as well as winning 3 Nike EYBL Peach Jam Championships in a row, which has never been done before my travel team Nightrydas did it.”
Feenane also spoke about his future head coach Ross Hodge: “I have been to West Virginia before and Coach Hodge is a great guy and very professional and wants to really get to know players not just as players but as people. West Virginia has a rich winning culture and I can’t wait to play for WVU and Coach Hodge.”
Hodge and his staff are also heavily pursuing two highly-touted guards in Oklahoma State transfer Arturo Dean, who visited West Virginia earlier this week, and four star guard Amir Jenkins, who is currently on an official visit to Morgantown.
