West Virginia Social Media Sending Clues?

Morgantown, West Virginia – Earlier this morning, the official West Virginia Football social media account sent out an interesting picture from the Mountaineers practice session.

The photo, taken inside the West Virginia Indoor Practice Facility, was a picture of Head Coach Neal Brown with freshman quarterback Garrett Greene in the background.  The subtitle of the picture was “Forward Focus.”

Perhaps the picture was referring to the Mountaineers focusing on what’s ahead – a matchup against the #11 ranked Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday – or perhaps it could be something more subtle.

Garrett Greene being in the background of the picture could very well be a hint that the Mountaineers are ready to turn to its freshman quarterback for the remainder of the year.  And at 5-4 on the season, what does West Virginia have to lose by giving Greene a shot?

Greene has appeared in 2 games this season – the first game against Eastern Kentucky and for one snap against Iowa State last week – and has passed for 24 yards on 3/4 passing.  Greene has also rushed for 40 yards on 6 carries this season, and he would instantly add a new dynamic to the West Virginia offense.
