West Virginia Starter Announces He’s Leaving the Team

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Following West Virginia’s 30-10 win against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, the Mountaineers got official news that has been rumored for a few weeks now.

Starting defensive player Jared Bartlett officially revealed that he will leave the West Virginia football program. In an announcement on X, Bartlett said the following: “Proud of this team, glad to ball out with my guys one last time. Let’s Go Mountaineers!”

Although his future plans are unclear, he is from Miami, Florida and perhaps wants to finish his career at home for the Hurricanes. In his four seasons with the Mountaineers, Bartlett played in 49 games and had 128 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
