Morgantown, West Virginia – Senior cornerback Charles Woods, who is an All-Big 12 Conference Preseason First Team member, will not play tonight when the West Virginia Mountaineers (0-1) host the Kansas Jayhawks (1-0) in the team’s home opener.
Woods, who was injured in the first half of the Mountaineers’ first game last week against Pitt, was seen on the sidelines in the second half of the game and is unfortunately not ready to play today.
The coaching staff referred to Woods as “the top defensive back in the Big 12 Conference” during the preseason and will now have to rely on several young, inexperienced players in the secondary today against Kansas.
JUST IN: Senior cornerback Charles Woods is not expected to play today when #WVU hosts Kansas. Woods, an All-Big 12 Conference Preseason First Team member, was injured in the first half of last week’s game against Pitt.
