Morgantown, West Virginia – According to senior guard Jose Perez, the West Virginia Mountaineers will wear a new uniform next season.

Perez, who was featured on a YouTube video over the weekend, showed off West Virginia’s world-class practice facility. During the tour, Perez made a very interesting announcement.

“We got that new AD so we’re getting black uniforms. We’re going to wear black uniforms next season.”

Perez is referring to new director or athletics, Wren Baker, who took over for Shane Lyons. The Mountaineers famously wore black uniforms during the 2009-2010 season when they made it all the way to the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament before losing to the eventual national champions, the Duke Blue Devils.

Let’s hope that the Mountaineers wearing black again leads them back to the Final Four and perhaps even greater in the upcoming season!
