Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers (0-2) hosts the Towson Tigers (0-2) from the Colonial Athletic Association. While West Virginia is currently favored to win by anywhere from 33 points to 39 points, according to Las Vegas, Towson could present some problems for the Mountaineers.
Towson quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome, a talented redshirt senior, is a dual threat player who will be difficult to contain. Pigrome, a former starting quarterback at Maryland, is 35/61 for 352 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception through two games. In addition, he has rushed 31 times for 152 yards on the season.
The Tigers have started the season hot with a 2-0 start with an overtime win over Bucknell and a tough win over Morgan State, but ultimately they are out-classed talent wise and physically today against the Mountaineers.
This is the only game that West Virginia is favored to win for the remainder of the season and they have more than enough offensive talent to dominate Towson’s overmatched defense.
Before a brutal upcoming schedule – with 3 out of the next four games on the road – this is the perfect opportunity for West Virginia to get back on track and figure things out.
Look for the Mountaineers to get up big and for JT Daniels to have an enormous game through the first half before Garrett Greene, Will Crowder and Nicco Marchiol all get action in the 2nd half.
