West Virginia Zooms Up the Recruiting Rankings

Morgantown, West Virginia – Following the announcement that Rodney Gallagher, one of the top-ranked athletes in the 2023 class, committed to play for West Virginia, the Mountaineers vaulted up the recruiting rankings.

West Virginia, who has seven recruits committed in the class, is now ranked #15 in the nation, according to 247 Sports. That ranks the Mountaineers ahead of Florida State, Texas, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Texas A&M, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Miami, among many other powerhouse programs throughout the country.

In addition, West Virginia ranks 3rd in the Big 12 Conference behind only Texas Tech (#2) and Baylor (#11).

The Mountaineers have six three star recruits – Josiah Trotter (LB), Cameron Calhoun (CB), Josiah Jackson (CB), Jahiem White (RB), Raheim Jeter (QB) and Cameron Jackson (DL) – as well as one four star player, today’s commit Rodney Gallagher (WR).

Although a lot can still happen in this recruiting class, this is an absolutely tremendous start for Neal Brown and the West Virginia Mountaineers coaching staff! The future looks very, very bright in Morgantown!
