West Virginia’s Recruiting Class Among the Best in College Football

Morgantown, West Virginia – Despite very average results on the field over his three seasons as the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers, Neal Brown has been incredibly effective on the recruiting trail.

Brown and his coaching staff have now put together one of the most talented recruiting classes in the entire nation for the 2023 season.

West Virginia’s 2023 recruiting class now features four star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher, as well as three star players Josiah Jackson (cornerback), James Heard (linebacker), Josiah Trotter (linebacker), Jahiem White (running back), Raheim Jeter (quarterback), Cooper Young (offensive lineman), Cameron Jackson (defensive lineman), Eamon Smalls (defensive lineman), Jordan Louie (running back) and today’s commit, Justin Benton (defensive lineman).

West Virginia’s class is now ranked 18th overall by 247 Sports and 16th overall by Rivals. This ranks the Mountaineers as 3rd in the Big 12 Conference behind only Texas Tech (2nd) and Baylor (16th).

To compare, Miami is currently ranked 42nd, Alabama is 47th and Dana Holgorsen’s Houston Cougars are 86th.
