West Virginia’s Top Player Close to Committing to the Mountaineers?

Isaac McKneely, the 6’3  four star sophomore guard from Poca, West Virginia, posted a flying WV on his Instagram story moments ago and it sent shockwaves through the Voice of Morgantown offices.  Could this be a signal that McKneely could be close to committing to Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers?

It certainly feels that way.  McKneely has developed a great relationship with Head Coach Bob Huggins and current West Virginia players, and him coming to Morgantown seems almost like a match made in Almost Heaven.

With that said, McKneely has started to gain a ton of recognition from coaches of big time programs from around the country and will have the ability to take his time and pick the perfect spot to continue his basketball career.  But really, is there a more perfect fit for him?

Christian Kezmarsky of Basketball Player Development on Wildcat Select said of McKneely: “Knock down shooter, high level bounce, great decision maker.  Multiple offers already and interest through the roof.  #1 ranked player in the state of West Virginia.”

McKneely’s scholarship offer list currently includes Davidson, Liberty, Marshall, Robert Morris, Stetson, Xavier and most recently, West Virginia.  247 Sports has the Mountaineers listed as “Warm” on his interest level and all other schools as “Cool”, while Rivals FanFutureCast lists West Virginia as 100% likely to land him.

Although Bob Huggins’ offer came later than hoped, it had to have been incredibly meaningful to the West Virginia-born phenom. McKneely is only a sophomore and has a long road ahead of him, but hopefully that road leads up I-79 to his new home in Morgantown.
