West Virginia’s Top Rusher Makes Decision on His Future

Morgantown, West Virginia – Moments ago, West Virginia’s top rusher, senior Leddie Brown, announced that he will opt out of and skip the Mountaineers’ bowl game, The Guaranteed Rate Bowl, on December 28th to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Brown, who rushed for 1035 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, is expected to be taken in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Brown said the following in his farewell message on social media: “First, I would like to thank the state of West Virginia for being the most loyal fan base, always showing out and supporting me throughout my entire collegiate career. The fans have made my time here at WVU a memorable experience.

I would like to thank my teammates. Thank you to Neal Brown and Coach Scott for your devotion to helping me on and off the football field. Helping me develop as a leader and a man, as well as master my craft to allow me to take my talents on to the next level.

After much thought and careful consideration with my family, I have decided to opt out of the Guaranteed Rate Bowl to focus on preparing for my life long dream. Thank you Mountaineer Nation for your unwavering passion and support.
