Will Grier Goes Off in Preseason Finale For Cowboys

Former WVU Quarterback Will Grier had a monster performance for the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.

Arlington, TX – Following the acquisition of 49ers Quarterback Trey Lance on Friday, the Dallas Cowboys informed Quarterback Will Grier that Saturday’s preseason finale against the Raiders would be his last with the team. As a kind gesture to Grier, the Cowboys gave him the entire game to act as an audition for the other 31 teams in the NFL.

It turns out that this chance was all he needed as Grier put together a terrific performance in a 31-16 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Grier connected on 29 of 35 passes for 305 yards and 2 touchdowns. The North Carolina native also proved himself to be a dual-threat, adding 10 rushes for 53 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.

The Dallas Cowboys named Grier the player of the game, making for a near-perfect swan song with America’s Team.

Grier is expected to be a hot commodity on the free agent market. Stay tuned to The Voice of Motown for updates on his future endeavors.
