With only two weeks until kickoff, Neal Brown’s announcement on who will be his starting quarterback should be coming at us soon — very soon. With what the head man had to say yesterday, we believe that the announcement could come as soon as tomorrow.
Coach Neal Brown said his team got in a lot of good situational work on Thursday afternoon.

In a report by John Antonik, the Director of Content for the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Brown gave an update as to when he would give us an update on quarterbacks. When talking about evaluating their play after practice on Thursday, he said he couldn’t say much coming straight off the field, and that he would have to evaluate their film. However, he would state when he will discuss Doege and Kendall more in depth.
“I’ll talk more about them on Saturday.”
Considering that this Saturday will mark two weeks until the season opening contest against Eastern Kentucky, it would be the perfect time for Neal Brown to name a starter. Though it should be taken with a grain of salt, Brown could have very well just foreshadowed his decision coming on Saturday.
He has not tipped his hat to either Austin Kendall or Jarret Doege, so it is virtually up in the air as to which direction he will choose to go in. Kendall finished the 2019 season with a 3-6 record as the starter while compiling 1,989 yards with 12 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. Doege was slightly more successful finishing with a 2-1 record and adding 818 passing yards with 7 touchdowns to 3 interceptions.
