Morgantown, West Virginia – Former West Virginia Mountaineers star wide receiver left the football program after the Mountaineers lost to Minnesota in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

This evening, Wright committed to play for the Florida State Seminoles Seminoles next season.

In his announcement, Wright thanked the people of West Virginia, saying, “I want to start again by thanking West Virginia University for building me up to be the best version of myself. For that I will forever be grateful.

My time at West Virginia will be with me forever. Morgantown will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

If the photo that Wright used in his announcement appeared to look familiar, it was because he used a photo from his time at West Virginia where he was sitting in the crowd celebrating with Mountaineers fans.

However, Wright decided to photoshop West Virginia fans, putting Florida State Seminoles gear on them instead. Although he didn’t likely mean this to be disrespectful, it was a bizarre decision that has ruffled the feathers of West Virginia fans on social media.
